When we lived in NM I was teaching a Geology Field Camp in the Taos region. One year there were some major wildfires in the mountains behind Taos. Thisphoto is a view across the Taos valley towards the mountains showing the smoke from these wildfires.
I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
