Description
Sandhill cranes come into land, Bosque de Apache NWR. This evening there was very little wind, and the cranes didn't know which way to come in to land. It made for some amusing watching. Generally they come into land facing into the wind. This photo was taken with Canon G3, a good P&S for the time. It was still a pretty slow camera. This was the best of a whole bunch of photos. You couldn't just see something and snap; by the time the image was recorded it would be completely different to what you thought you were getting.
