Artist's Description
Mt Tasman (Horokoau in Māori; on the left) and Mt Cook (Aoraki), in the New Zealand Alps, as seen from the Lake Matheson area. Mt Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand at 3724m (12,218ft). Mt Tasman is the second highest mountain in New Zealand at 3,497 metres (11,473 ft). The New Zealand Alps are formed by oblique slip on the Alpine Fault, which separates the Indian-Australian Plate from the Pacific Plate.
About Steven Ralser

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico. Now I find the beauty around where I live in Madison. If you live in the Madison area, contact me, and I can print images for you (save on postage).
